Hello, 1st post.. I'm currently in hospital awaiting the fitting of a pacemaker hopefully before the weekend.
I had my loop recorder downloaded following a nocturnal faint and it showed a slowing rhythm with a 15second pause.
I'm an on the run firefighter and would like to hear from any others out there who can share positive experiences of getting back to normal?
I'm 41, fit enough and still in a bit of shock!
Ta,
Dan.

Had a strange appointment with my cardioligist. She was talking about pissible treatments if my symptoms get worse. She ssid i was likely not to find a match for a transplant since i was "so big". I am only 6'1" and 210 pounds. Never heard of this.

Hi all,
I am looking to get some airpods for Christmas but they have a magnet in them, are they ok to use? They will be more than 6 inches away from my pacemaker but could they interfere?
Cheers
Callum

I am about to do a nuclear ☢️ treadmill stress test - they just told me they will chemically dialate my arteries because walking or running on a treadmill with a pace maker would produce inaccurate readings ??????

It has been several years since I visited this site. This group got me through my pacemaker problems and helped me stay informed and in the know of what to ask and when to panic. I became at ease with my bionics and life took over again and I drifted away from this site. I have sent several folks to this site and I always knew they were there if I needed them. Got my pm in 2001. Doc told me next year I will need a new battery. Not looking forward to that, but I pace 10...

Has anyone gone into a store, and had a heart rate spike? For the past couple of weeks, every time i walk into a supermarket my heart rate spikes. It goes from a normal of 75-80 to between 105-110. I have a "kardia" device that performs an ECG. I normally shop at my local Vons in the San Diego area. After this started, I went to several other supermarkets not owned by Vons/Safeway, and the same thing happened.
I have a Medtronic adapta. Implanted in 2009...

I figured out how to post a photo in members only section .
i posted a screen shot of my settings - I’m interested in input if anyone is willing to check it out .
I’m not 100% sure what I’m looking at
im doing fine just feel like my rate isn’t getting up high enough during exercise - maybe it’s some other issue the pacer can’t assist with ?

Heard of a guy named Ivor Cummins ? He has done lots of research abiut heart disease and insulin resistance. His theories involve the idea that if you have heart disease you are an undiagnosed diabetic. He goes on to say LDL isn't the problem only a symptom of insulin resistance .
look the guy up on you tube and see what you think.
my total Chlosterol is 87, LDL is 50, and HDL 36.... triglycerides 50.
i have taken a statin for 13 years religiously.

I had my first ICD implanted in January 2019 and go see my cardiologist next week for an 11 month echo. I'm 56, WAS in great health and very physically active. A little over three years ago some random virus decided to settle in my heart and that in combination with some damage to my heart muscle from chemo 46 years ago put me into heart failure.
I was initially put on Digoxin and Bisoprolol and that brought my EF up from 35% to 40%. I went off of D...

Three years ago I was told that my bradycardia would surely cause me cardiac arrest at some point. It was 27bpm. Now I am classified as Not PM Dependent. That is because my heart can still beat on it’s own approximately 15% of the time, according to the last reading.
At my next checkup, I will ask my EP what the next remedy is when my hr can’t get to 60 or 70bpm on its own. Does anyone here know???

Since my PM implant just over 6 weeks ago my resting pulse rate has been a very steady 55. Since Friday however, it has risen to a very steady 80! It stays at 80 whether I'm lying down, sitting or walking. A brisk walk will raise it above 80. I have used several ways for measuring it. A garmin heart rate moniteo arm strap, Omron blood pressure monitor and manually counting for 15 seconds and multiplying by 4. It is now always 80 and probably because of this my body is hot all the tim...

I have had my Pacemaker 4yrs. Really appreciate what it has done for my health.
In this message, I am wondering about fitbit adjustments, not pacemaker adjustments.
Since my Pacemaker keeps my rate above 60, will my sleep data be accurate since it relies on heart rate slowing as well as movement) ? Should I use the normal or sensitive sleep setting on the Fitbit.com website.
Fitbit keeps adding more functionality, which is great. I just wonder if some of that functionalit...

I got my device in the mail yesterday ..... I did a reading and it said a cardiologist had to review and I could use it in 24 hours .
i am able to use now.
I have no idea how to read an EKG ......
all of the EKGs I do say "no Afib, unclassified , no tachycardia , or bradycardia but not normal per their algorithm... could be some other arrhythmias usually fast or slow heart rate or poor quality recording"
I had my wife do one and hers was "...

Hi, it’s me again! I feel like a hypochondriac, but I know this is real and not imagined. I’m a 62 yr old female. PM, Boston scientific, dual lead, put in 9/12/19, Sick Sinus syndrome, Brady-Tachycardia. Pm set to 60, with rate response adjustment due to hr not going up enough during exercise. During exercise, intense pain in my heart. Called dr EP said, not pacemaker related, cardiologist had me come in for a pm interrogation. Tech said it appears that I’m sensitive to...
