Hello All,
I know this has been a topic in the past but wanted to hear if anyone else has had any issues. I have a 2013 Altima with push start button for the ignition. I had my pm implanted on June 19, 2013 and have had this car ever since. I have not had any issues until now, my car won't start randomly and says "incorrect key id" and doesn't unlock or lock at times from the remote. I took the car to Nissan and they can't find anything wrong and starts up fine for them. This car...

Hi all,
Two weeks post op 18/12/13, i had to dive (baywatch style) off a 2 meter high pool fountain to save my 2 1/2 year old daughter from drowning. She is fine, swimming lessons paid off.
What i would like to know is what are the symptoms of a lead coming loose. I have a home blood pressure machine that confirms i am still pacing at 60bpm. I have a Meditronic Advisa DR. I dont have any pain over incision or sub pec implant but do have intermittent tolerable pain in heart....

I have posted a few times about my dear husband's pacemaker insertion on January 3, 2014. I will not repeat all the previous details, but it has been a very scary and bumpy road thus far. The most frightening one occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning when he awakened me with pain in his chest plus a squeezing sensation. I had been watching him closely for signs of a rise in blood pressure above 180/80 to 90 with rise in temperature and signs that his DVT in the PM side arm had gone to...

My pacemaker was put in 10/24/2013, On November 12 I spiked a 105* degree temp incision opened I could actually see the pacemaker. I wasn't able to walk and was stuck in bed till someone got home to help me. I got to the hospital and they immediately started doing blood cultures and transferred me for emergency surgery. I was in the hospital 8 day and then had to have a picc line inserted for antibiotics around the clock for the infection In my blood. Then the wound opened up where the pacemaker...

Has anyone ever had their pacemaker with defibillator migrate up in the chest vs down? My husband's was implanted on Dec 20th 2013 - he is 44 yrs old with cardiomyopothy . We returned to the hospital where it was implanted on Jan 13/14 - they will move it due to the fact that it is hitting a nerve and sitting directly on his collar bone...extremely painful for him...we have no surgury date as of yet.
Thank you in advance to all could help us....we are "newbies" and haven't any expectation...

I am 43 yrs old and I had my pace maker on Oct 22, 2013 for 3rd degree heart block--nothing else was wrong with the heart. I am suffering with frozen shoulder, which I am in therapy for and it is loosing up for me, but I still have the fuzzy head feeling and lack of focus and not wanting to do too much. My doctor suggests putting me on an anti depressant. Am I depressed? Or is it something else? If I need an anti depressant what is the best one for mild depression? Is there any herbal...

I'm 66 & had pacemaker for 1st time 10/23/13 left side. On 1/5/14 my entire left arm/hand got swollen & still is. I did get a hard bump on 1/4 on upper left arm but had not pain that day or next. Blood work, ultrasound were normal. Fam. Dr is trying to find an orthopedic Dr for me to see. I've had no other surgeries . Pacemaker was due to long pauses in heart beats. I have no other conditions. Any advice?

Dear People: I hope that I am not being unkind to require so much time from all of you. You have been wonderful to allay some of my fears and worries. My dear husband is showing some signs of improvement in his overall condition. He is on Xarelto 15 mg at suppertime for his DVT and that's all the doctor thought was necessary. I have read and researched the internet to see if there is anything to be done to help eliminate the swelling. The swelling has gone down in his upper arm and the vein...

Hello all,
Well its now just under 6 months since my PM saved my life. Many of you were kind enough to respond to my initial posts and for that I will be forever grateful. You all helped me so much. Thank you for that!! I am doing better, of that I have no doubt, but (isn't there always a "but"?), I am still having episodes of shortness of breath on exertion. For example, walking my dog and having a conversation while walking, climbing a flight or two of steps, sometimes just talking on th...

Thanks to so many people for their advice concerning the problems my dear husband was having over the weekend with swelling in his arm. Some advised me to get him to the ER, and I so much wish I had taken him there; but on the advice of the NP on call for the weekend, she had told me that the amount of swelling he was having was normal. Well, it wasn't!! We did get worked in today at the heart institute where he had the surgery and after ultrasound it was discovered that he had clotting in hi...

I am 43 years old and never had any heart issues and got slammed with 3rd degree heart block and had my pacemaker installed on Oct 22nd, 2013. I also had an infected tooth that went undetected for 2 months prior to my heart blcok--I think that was the cause of the heart block, but still no answers from the doctors--they say it was hereditery/born with it and they do not know.
I have been experiencing light headedness, shoulder pain, neck pain and I have been taking everyone's advise....

Thanks to all who posted about my dizzy feeling. I just want it to go away and I guess with me continuing the shoulder/neck therapy it will get better with time. I am glad it is nothing too serious and I will try to manage the best I can. This is a process for all of us.
As for the tooth I had pulled--It started out as a root canal with a crown in June and by September I had to have it pulled and then my pacemaker was put in on Oct 22nd. Yes, I was on antibiotics for both the ro...

Starting three days ago I started feeling a thumping in my chest which seems to be in rhythm with my heartbeat.. started in my right side near the diaphragm. The next day it stopped for a while, then resumed but this time on the lower left side and then it stopped. Today the thumping feels right under the pocket where the CRT is installed. I had an appointment but when the thumping stopped I cancelled it because it was an office I don't usually go too pretty far from my house. I am concerned tha...

Hi Everyone
I went into the ER end of August 2013 and went into Cardiac arrest. They found my ejection fraction was 15%. In hospital they of course took out infected device and attached a device to the outside of my chest. Had to go back in for surger...

I have to admit that my PM installation went without a hitch in any way, absolutely NO pain in any way (guess I'm blessed) and no post implant complications as far as pain or muscle problems. I was implanted one day, kept for observation for one day and discharged at noon. Within an hour of arriving home I was out in the yard pruning shrubs. I'm left handed but right eye dominant. Being a hunter I had the PM implanted on my left side due to rifle recoil to my right shoulder.A little less than a...

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
