Hi all thanks so much for all your thoughts and messages! I am now post 7 weeks biventricular pacemaker replacement and can actually almost flip the thing over just by lifting my arm. No better than the first time I posted about it, except now it's more protruding. Called x2 for appt but can't see my doc until feb 19!!!! Can u imagine ?!?! I did get an appt with the nurse jan 21. Flushing

pacemaker inerted Dec.31/13,
faint feeling and tickling between wing bones jan 4/14. xray showed atrial lead had moved
Second surgery Jan.6th and pacer now working but on Jan. 8th evening I started having a flushing feeling like a wave of adrenalin starting in the pubic area and rolling upward. No change in my pulse at the time and the pacemaker has been checked. No lightheadedness.
What is it ????

It feels like a baby is kicking my liver

I have non-obstructive HCM, AF, left BBB, an enlarged LA, Bradycardia and frequent PVCs. Burning Burning Burning...Biotronik PM

I'm posting on behalf of my 63 year old mother. She had a Biotronik PM implanted in Aug 2012. For 17 months she has been dealing with burning sensations as if her body is on fire...in her chest, up her neck, down her back, around the ears, down the legs, etc. She literally says she sometimes smell an odor like metallic. shoulder pain

Hi,

I am a 67 year old male with a medtronic pacemaker since April 2013. I have no heart issues other than bradycardia from A/V block. I was never symptomatic though an electrocardiogram showed my heart rate was 25 bps. My pacemaker is a lower limit switch set at 50 bps. Over 50bps it is shut off. I have run all my life with decades of 40-50 miles per week and up to 70 miles per week when training for marathons. I now run about 30 miles per week slowly just to keep some semblanc...

Misplaced lead

On Dec. 9, I had a pacemaker placed for a slow nighttime heartbeat (under 40 beats per minute). Almost immediately I had shoulder pain. Doctor told me I was using my arm too much. The pain felt like I was being stabbed. This continued off and on until the Friday before New Year's. During this time, I was told over and over that I was using my arm too much. Fever after PM implantation

My dear husband had pacemaker implantation on Friday, January 3, 2014, and came home the same day. He is 85 years old. He did great yesterday, hardly complained. Today his temperature is 99.2 and he thinks he feels some palpitations. This was after drinking a glass of Pepsi cola. Vertigo

Hello just joined, had my pacemaker 12-5-2013. The last couple of days having bouts of vertigo. Starts room spinning ends up with vomiting and feelings of warm all over feeling almost like hot flash. Has anyone else experienced vertigo with pacemaker?

Pericarditis and pericardial effusion

Hi. I got my PM on 6/12/13 and have just spent another week in hospital with diagnosis of pericarditis and pericardial effusion (which has occurred due to an incident during PM insertion). I'm on steroids and anti inflammation meds and going to have weekly echocardiograms.i have symptoms.wondering if anyone else has had this and if so what symptoms did you have and how long did it take for symptoms to pass?

ADVISE NEEDED!

I recently had a pace maker put in late October. I am now experiencing shoulder pain. I am seeing a chiropractor and it does not seem to be helping. I am also seeing a neurologist and that is not helping either. Any suggestions where to go to next. I want to be pain free and get back to my life!

I also have dizziness most likely due to the pain in my shoulder. I am using cremes and icy hot pads on a daily basis and doing exercises, but nothing is helping.

fatigue flecainide beta-blocker pacemaker

I received a pacemaker 2/1/2013 after four years of paroxysmal a fib that emerged as sick sinus syndrome. I had a low heart rate, and
am now paced at 55 b.p.m. almost all of the time. I take 50mgs
flecainide twice and day and atenolol 12.5 mgs once a day. I
continue to be fatigued (e.g. need afternoon nap to function, wake

little shocks in chest

Hello,

I had my first pacemaker implanted about a week and half ago. I had my first check-up today. Since I have had the device I have been feeling very very tiny "shocks" in my left pectoral muscle. Almost like someone was gently tapping it from the inside. It alarmed me so I brought it up with my doc.

It turns out that they just had to tune the voltage down a little bit for the shocks. I was getting paced at 5 volts in the Ventricular and they lowered it to 3 volts....

Hi I think my st jude pace maker some how has been turned off is there some way to confirm this with out a trip to the emergency room. settings were 55/135 my heart rate is now down to 41 is there some way I can restart it at home????

Slip Sliding Away Pacemaker

Well I have been careful with not raising my arm and other things for a week. However, because I am thin I think the pacemaker has shifted some. I will check with my wife who saw it when installed and another family member thought it looked the same. I did not agree.

Pain swelling and burning in new pocket

Hi all... It's been a while which means all has been quiet ! But now I need your help again:

had my third pm implanted 11/22/13. My old one had "sunk"into my breast tissue so when time can to replace my unit they decided to close old pocket and move everything up nearer my collar bone. I am 4 weeks post surgery and am in constant discomfort and pain, part Of the unit is so close to the skin it's protruding and is a large area. The whole thing aches from the pacer into my shoulder...

Hi all.
I had rotator cuff surgery - successful. Unfortunately the nerve block - administered by an anaesthetist who saw me for the first time in theatre and did not know I had a PM- seems to have shredded nerves, veins and lymph canals/nodes in trying to come at the nerve block through the neck instead of below the clavicle, which was his plan until I pointed out the PM leads in his planned field of attack.
I now suffer from Thoracic outlet Syndrome, swollen Arm, neck, jaw, etc.

Dislodged Lead

I had a dual PM installed on Friday to address a ventricular heart block, the post op check revealed that the ventricular lead was OK but the atrial lead was dislodged. I have a further op scheduled for tomorrow to adjust the atrial lead but as this lead was only installed as additional security I am considering if this operation is necessary as I am 91.Would appreciate your comments.
