Hi everyone, i've been doing some reading up on pacemakers, as my father is having one put in this coming monday. He is an auto mechanic and owns his garage. The doctors have told him he will not be able to work anymore, however that is not in the cards for him and he does not want to do so.
The pacemaker is being installed because his heart beats way to fast. he has had the maze procedure as well as the ablation procedure. they say he is in afib 24/7 now, and this is his last...

I have an irregular heart beat at times and 6 yers ago, I purchased a Garmine device to measure my heart rate. It , and another Garmine replacement didn't work, which I attributed to th irregular beat and were returned. Is there anything on the market today that would work with an irregular beat? I have an ICD due to V TACH .

Hi all, you were so helpful last time I had a question, so here's another one for you. Is my husband who has a biotronik dual pacemaker (not difib) and is 50 years old. He had a level 3 blockage (electrical impulses not working) due to having chemotherapy as a 10 year old.
So...is he considered a 'compromised immune system' or 'a high risk' individual in the current covid 19 era.
Thank you, Karen (his wife)

I would like to know from those that have HIS Bundle Pacing in the U.S. where they had it done. I found one hospital network in eastern Pennsylvania, but none that I am aware of in Northern Ohio where I live.
I don't want any personal information, just a city and/or hospital name.

I am 28 years old and had to have an ICD put in me. I had the procedure done last Thursday. I am very grateful that my doctor decided to place it under the muscle because of my age and size, however I have been experiencing terrible shoulder pain. I have broken my collar bone several times and was in a car accident so I thought I was used to shoulder pain, but I have never felt pain like this. It starts in my shoulder blade and travels down my arm and into my fingers. The office told me this...

Hi all
I am a teacher aged 42 and our staff have been told to go home if we are on the vulnerable list with an underlying condition. We completed our medical information a couple of months ago.
Based on a list they have of qualifying conditions, I have been told I am on this and need to go home.
I have a pacemaker for malignant vasovagal syncope. I've had recent investigations of continuous ectopic beats, but nothing detected.

Most common suggestion here is: "Find the best EP you can.....you only want someone with expertise to lay their hands on you." So..............how does one go about this? An outfit like TCAI supposedly has a top notch Doc., Andrea Natale. There is also a bottom notch Doc at that same location named Bailey. Unfortunately, that is who (mis)treated me. Maybe members here can throw names around of who treated them successfully.

I am updateing this post in hopes that I get some feedback on thisx subject. Regarding this situation, I was recently advised of an incident where one wire lead had come detached and was causing similar sensation as what I have been feeling, yet since the problem was not inside of the pacer, there was absolutely no indication on the pacer reading to reveal the problem. Of course that leaves medical caregivers to beleive there is no problem when in reality there is...

Hi everyone,
I am 26 years old and had a duel chamber pacemaker fitted in January for 3rd degree heart block that was causing intense dizzy spells and light headed ness.
I have been struggling emotionally in the run up to the surgery and had a bit of a break down a few days before the surgery.
Since the surgery I have not been having the same lightheadedness and dizziness so I know the pacemaker must be doing it's job but I constantly...

Just got wired 2/2/20. This is all new to me.
I'm male, 67, 5'10", 185lbs diagnosed 3 years ago with partial heart block. Asymtomatic - HR resting 30-34. new HR 60. Doctor said at my regular cardio appointment it was time.
1) How do I know if a "lead" is damaged, lose or not working?
2) Exercise - been told to hold off lifting my arm above my head for 4 weeks. I like to do eliptical 30 mins 5 times a week. Can...

Hi! Has anyone with a pacemaker traveled by air in recent days? If so, what precautions did you take? Are we in the "at risk" category for the coronavirus?
Thanks,

Hi there.
I've only just joined this group - because until Tuesday morning, I had no need to.
I'm 42, from the UK and I work as a touring musician - principally a guitar player. It's what I love, and I'm so lucky to have made a career out of playing music and touring the world. Last Sunday I played the last show of an Australian tour (which was fantastic) and started to feel exhausted. A few hours later I was in the ICU covered in wires and drips and had received C...

Hi All
I was diagnosed with a complete heart block whilst still in the womb. After years of monitoring, at the age of 7 the hospital decided it was time for my first pacemaker. I am now 27 and am celebrating 20 years of living with a pacemaker by recovering from my 4th pacemaker implant, which took place on 10th March 2020.
Since leaving the children's hospital, it has become very apparent that I am always the youngest person either at pacin...
