I’ve had my PM 2weeks today. At my wound check last week my BP was 160/84. Today I was back for a BP check and it was 163/94.
Here’s my question....
i realize I’m in an adjustment period but my cardiologist told me he had paced me high. Would that contribute to the higher BP ???
Thanks !

I have had my pacemaker now 14 months and my lead revision 9 months. Now my pacemaker feel heavy, almost like it is pulling. I had an X-Ray and the Dr said it looked fine. What would could be causing this? It feels like it did after the orginal implant. I have not felt like this since 2-3 weeks after surgery, It doesn't hurt just more uncomfortable. Thanks Dave

When it's really quiet when napping or going to sleep at night I can hear my pacemaker humming in my ears. It's no annoying or troublesome, just noticeable. Is this normal and has anyone else had the same experience from time to time?

Hi everyone,
Ive only posted on here one other time; back when I was deciding on if I needed a PM or not. I’m a 35/m in pretty good shape. Regular runner, hiker, etc. A year ago I developed atrial flutter out of the blue, had an ablation, they discovered scarring in my heart, and a few weeks later I started having episodes of low and irregular heart rate (anywhere from 40-55).
The symptoms have come and gone over the last year. Sometimes going a month feeling compl...

Since my pacemaker 18 mths ago I have experienced constant light headedness + frequent mild nausea. Nothing has been found. I noticed on my oximeter that O2 levels have dropped from fairly constant 98/99% to 94/96%. The only thing left that I could think of was valve leakage in the paced side of my heart. Looking at my heart X rays I was surprised how thick the pacemaker wires were going thru the heart valves. Heart valves calcify as we age + any foreign object going thru them must cause leak...

I have had a PM since beginning of February. I am finding the skin over the PM becoming very sensitive. Voltaren seems to help. Is this common and does it go away?

So I am now 7 weeks post op.. I have noticed since I had the device fitted that whenever I am being paced my heart rate drops to the base limit, or near (50bpm) then suddenly increases again.
I decided to do a bit of power walking today and my heart rate went from 108bpm to 50bpm within seconds. Surely this can't be good for my heart?
I was on VVI pacing but now on DDD as I was having terrible palpitations and dizzyness. Turns out that VVI pacing can cause heart failure...

I had a pacemaker implanted about 10 days ago and all is going well.
My question is this...I was due my regular mammogram next week and have cancelled that appointment. How long will it take to heal enough to get a mammogram ??

2/27 I had a HIS bundle pacer implanted. Prior to pacemaker, lots of coughing, trouble breathing ,EF 35, QRS 160, with diagnosis of LBBB. The day the pacemaker was implanted until it was taken out on 5/15 no coughing, walking 3 miles for 20 days . There was a loose lead so the Dr. went in and replaced lead. The lead fell out during the night for the second time.
A biventricular pacemaker was inserted two days later. I started a dry cough very soon . I have been coughing and spitti...

Having severe groin pain at the site of Micra insertion a year later, no sign of infection etc. Combined with some wierd right leg numbness and nerve pain over hip area. Not sure if related but wondering if anyone has felt anything similar re: groin pain after so much time. Going for an ultrasound and Cat scan to try and figure out- pain comes in hip and leg when laying down and groin pain is fairly constant.

I'm 38 and had a dual lead implant put in about 1.5 years ago. Had bradycardia and was having some dizzy episodes. thankfully now I never drop below 50 bpm (always had a low heart rate as long as I can recall and fairly active).
Lately, I've been more in tune with the fact that I seem tired more ofthen than I'd expect. No settings have been changed. I keep an eye on my apple watch and consistently running in low 50s when inactive. I have also noticed that I seem to be...

Or dose anyone know of any other options I do try to eat healthy and I do walk but it's getting harder on my feet and knees and get out of breat...

Hi all! My name is Rachel and I am a new member here on Pacemaker Club! I am 23 and got my pacemaker implanted in 2005 (if I remember correctly). I am on my second device and due for a battery change within the next year. I have never changed my leads, only the pacemaker itself. My pacemaker is in my lower abdomen under the rib cage with the leads going up. I was born with hypoplastic right congenital heart condition, and was able to have a successful fontan procedure when I wa...

Hello, anyone else have their defibulator go off during sleep and not feel it ?
I am about 8 months into my pacemaker-defibulator and twice now it has gone off at night for rapid heart beat and I didn't know. My monitor picked it up and I was called the next day by the cardiology people. I have yet to feel the impact of the defibulator and I am nervous about it as my hospital experience was mega painful!!!
Glad I have found this forum.... hugs to alll, je...

I received my PM in January due to Complete Heart Block. Within days, after my wound check, I left for an extended vacation/recoup in Florida. When I got back in March they adjusted my PM and I had an MRI. I really still, even after extensive research don't' know exactly how this PM works. Excuse my ignorance but with Covid-19 I never get to talk to my Cardiologist, just staff. What kind of information do I need to figure out exactly what my PM is doing? The MRI found Cardiac Sarcoido...
