I received my pacemaker, Edora 8 DR-T, September 11, 2020. It's been one month. I've read and been told most people can tell an immediate difference. I have bradycardia and afib. My resting heart rate was 43 and is 63 now.
I just had my first checkup 12 days ago and my doctor made an adjustment. I still do not feel any better. I am fatigued and stay sleepy all the time. How long before most people see improvement? Thanks.

Hello, I had a pacemaker installed three months ago and have appreciated reading information on this forum. My question is about use of a Fitbit to track sleep stages after having a pacemaker. I had tracked my sleep and sleep stages regularly using a Fitbit InspireHR device prior to the pacemaker. After getting the pacemaker my Fitbit device records little or no REM sleep. Deep sleep recorded is more variable than pre-pacemaker. I've therefore been trying t...

Hello,
I am 26 years old and an avid mountain biker. On Sunday, I fell hard, hit my head, and my chest (including the ICD), went to the ED, had a chest x-ray, and a head CT, both of which were negative for injuries. On Monday, I sent a remote interrogation to my device clinic and everything looked good on it. However, today, the area around the icd has become a lot more tender. Should I call my doc, or just keep icing/Tylenol. Best, Paula

My pacemaker ( St Jude duel chamber) was installed 8/27/2020. I constantly check my HR with either Apple Watch, Fitbit (sleeping) and Omron machine. My pacemaker is set at 70 bpm however the other devices (even at my doctor's office) show my HR at 39 to 44 much of the time while at rest. The doc says i have an extra heartbeat that causes this. I had afib and went through the cardio ablation in November of 2019. Doc says not afid now but the extra heartbeat. i am tired al...

So, I have a torn up Achilles' tendon in my heel and an appointment with an orthopedic doc on Friday. I saw my primary care doc on Monday and she wanted me to get an MRI of the ankle/heel before the Friday appointment.
the first imaging center I spoke to said their machines work fine with my "MRI Safe" device, but they don't have the team necessary to work with pacemakers so I was referred to my local hospital MRI center. After speaking to them,...

Does anyone know of an electrophysiologist near Rochester NY who does Boston Scientific pacemakers?
My current pacemaker is near the end of its lifetime, and I would like to replace it with a dual sensor pacemaker from Boston Scientific. I need adaptive pacing for my chronotropic incompetence. My current pacemaker (from Medtronic) is not helpful for biking.
Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question? Maybe plenty of doctors are willing to put in a Boston Scientific, and the r...

Hi everyone,
So I have been considering applying to a foreign service fellowship with the department of state in the USA. But upon reading the requirements I saw that it requires you to pass a medical check. I was wondering if any of you know if my pacemaker would prevent me from passing one. I can't find any clear information online about the required medical check. I am not pacemaker dependent and have no other medical conditions that would prevent me from passing. But I can&...

I wonder if my comment here might be a hopeful thing for some in their early pm days.
I reckon it took around two years for my heart to become happy with my twin lead St Jude pm for complete heart block.
And now, two and a half years on, I'm not even aware I have a pacemaker, or even a heart. I'm almost a normal old man, whatever that is!

Two weeks ago I had a small spot appear on my pacemaker scar, and some soreness/possible swelling under my arm that might have been related but might also have been coincidental. The pacemaker has also been feeling just generally a bit sore, as if something is rubbing or has moved. My GP put me on antibiotics in case of infection which really affected my stomach. For a while was taking the probiotic lactobacillus rhamosus which was really helping. But I stopped taking it becau...

Had a PFT and stress test, breezed through both for the most part so I'm allowed to work out again. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a mild case of asthma now, don't know if it's from the infection or the timing is coincidence but I don't guess it matters much, we know what it is so can treat it and I can get back to being active again. Made some tweaks to my pacer also, something about atrial sensing and p waves that mostly went over my head, but hopefully that will help goi...

Hello.
I may be in the wrong saloon, but does anyone know what they will do WHEN I decide not to replace my battery? Will they remove it of simply turn it off? (Please don't chime in with "why" etc.)

Hi All! Happy to have found this awesome page! I am pacing 100% in the ventricles but 0% in the atria, does this mean I'm 100% dependant on the pacemaker?

Those posting replies are doing a great service to fellow patients. Just one request, could you give the Readers Digest shortened version of your response. I'm old and running severely short on time, not to mention attention span. It's near impossible for me to read a complete history of the world. Thanks

I recently had a Medtronic Micra AV leadless PM installed. The care says it is MRI-conditional. Anyone have any idea what that means?

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
