Will a hand held electric vibrating massager cause interference or damage my pacemaker? I need the facts, not speculation on this question and haven't found them.

Hand held ticket scanner

Hello all. I work as a volunteer usher at a performing arts center. One of my duties is to scan patron's tickets using a hand-held ticket scanner. Does anyone know if the scanner will interfere with my pacemaker? I have a Boston Scientific Pacemaker.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Wireless charging and wireless headphones

Hi,

I have an ESPRIT DR (Sorin) pacemaker which is implanted in 2009 and I want to buy the new Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone which supports wireless charging and wireless headphones. I want to know if any of these features/devices interfere with my pacemaker. I emailed both Sorin and Nokia about it. Nokia told me that they don't have any information regarding this issue and asked me to contact my pacemaker company. Sorin didn't reply back and I am still waiting :) Anyone have any info wh...

Powder coating

Good afternoon. I don't have the pacemaker but my husband has a PM/defibulator (sp) for about 2 years now. He has always been an active painter and powdercoater. The tech and Dr. told him he couldn't do the powder coating anymore because of the high voltage electricity that comes from the gun. I did see one post on here from a gentleman that said he powdercoated with no problems. I wouldl like anyones take on this as my husband sure would like to start powdercoating again. Thanks.

Miche Bags

I'm new to the club and I have a question. I was invited to a Miche Bag party next week. The Miche Bag is very unique because you purchase the inner part of the bag or purse and the outside of the bag can be changed out to match an outfit or whatever. The outside of the bag attaches with strong magnets. This idea is great, but I'm worried about the magnets. Could the magnets reprogram my pacemaker? Am I just being paranoid? If anyone knows anything about placing magnets near a pacemaker I...

Upcoming surgery

I have been coming to this site regularly for some time, but this is the first time I have needed some advice. In November of 2010, I became the owner of an Evia Biotronik pacemaker for complete heart block. As of my last interrogation in May, I am pacing 85% of the time in the atria and 97% of the time in the ventricle. My little computer and I have been doing well together, but something came up last week that concerns me.

I was sent to an ENT to check for Meniere's disease. Whi...

Rhyzoromy Coming Up

I am scheduled for radio-frequency ablation of my sacroiliac joints (they are located between the lower spine and pelvic girdle). This will be my first since I've had PM's. it is also called rhyzotomy. It kills the sensory nerves with radio frequency pulses. How is the PM protected during this process? I'm concerned because once during one of my neck surgeries, a neurosurgeon used a cautery tool at an unsafe level. I know this because the tale tell signs were captured on my PM's recorder. The...

Not sure this is where to post

New to this, so needless to say have a lot of questions. But for right now my main one is:  is there anything out there that can be used to cover so that certain signals won’t cause it to hurt my chest. For example, my wife has KINDEL reading book and when she turns that on I have to leave the room. There are also other things, but I figure that if I can get an answer to this it may help on other problems.

Thanks

wind turbines

My concern is wind turbines. We live in the Ipperwash beach area on lake Huron on. We presently have 6 turbines within 1 mile of our farm. We have been notified that over 150 more will be built in the area over the next year. Some could be within a 1/4 mile from us.
I am concerned that this large concentration of these units will cause a failure in my device. Is anyone aware of device failure do to this type of large concentration of turbines. My Doctors are not sure as their has been no re...
