Went to go see my EP today because i've been getting out of breath feeling for no apparent reason. Its like my breath is taken away then it comes right back.Thay said there's been a change since my last visit in my lead it must have shifted a little. Before it was sensed at 1.6 and now its at .8 or something. Thay said my pm is still working fine and doing its job, but the only way for me not to feel that feeling which they said is my diaphram being simulated also, is to go in a reposition my lead( which i don't want them to do) They didn't seem concerned about it. Does anyone have this or been through it or know something about it......Input PLEASE

Lead Moved?
by ElectricFrank - 2009-05-27 12:05:31
A lead doesn't just move a little. It is firmly attached to the heart wall. To move it has to come loose and it has no way to attach itself again. What they are describing is to go in and reattach it.
Since it isn't attached it can just flop around and stimulate whatever tissue it comes in contact with. The current can find a way to the diaphragm and cause it to twitch giving the breath feeling.
They aren't concerned because it isn't them that is having the symptoms. It's not going to get better without their fixing it.
best of luck,
frank

I wouldn't be here if it were not for this amazing technology inside of me.
Please get your lead re-positioned

I would also suggest you to get your lead repositioned. It is a small procedure now, that your lead is already there inside. But you will drastically improve symptoms-wise and get rid of this sinking feeling and the annoying diaphragm pacing.
If you trust your EP/ Hospital continue with them or else change them. If you hav good relations with the company trained engineer, he may be able to guide you for your specific case and can help you with the guidance that you may want at this stage.
