Hi my name is moira I had my pacemaker fitted in Dec 08 I went for my second check up on Monday and they said they think one of my leads have moved but not too worry and to come back in 6 months to check it the had to do a bit of adjustment on the pacing of it. I am a keen runner but since having it fitted I have pain in the area after exercise has anyone else had any of these problems as you can imagine it is stressing me out . Regards Moira

Lead moving

Since you have a newly implanted lead, I would press the doc a little more about what the "programmed." It is possible that a small dislodgement has a occurred and the energy required to pace your heart has changed. (technically speaking the thresholds may have changed forcing the battery to use more energy to pace the heart....less battery life.)
If the lead has moved, NOW is the time to fix it before the lead becomes scarred in place and has to be removed...
Pain at four months out is not the typical pattern, but it may be the way your device treats you...sorry, every one is different.
Good Luck

nothing wrong with being athletic as long as our PM s at the right pace...i have mine for 19 years i do all works name it i did it...am a media practitioner by d way, and when am on d call we do all stuff...climbing, running...everything but i dont feel pain at all just out of breath sometime bcoz and its normal feeling even with those that dont have PM.so i suggest u better asked ur cardio again n complain so they can schedule u for another operation to changed d pace of ur pacemaker or whatever they suggest u to do:) god bless u
