The "Appointment"

Hi Pacer friends. I have just arrived here at my office and was all ready to post my news when a client walked in so I had to logout and take care of him. Yippee for Clients! I like those people. :-)

Anyway, looks like I had a couple of "Remarkable Events" recorded on my Pacemaker since November. Those holidays can trigger some emotions! Yikes. My EJ (Ejection Fraction) is at 55%. Yay!

My Pacemaker is in EOL. Yikes. I still have a few weeks left so we decided that March 5 is the new Pacemaker implant day. I'm excited! I'm getting the new "Accent" with a "Merlin" remote monitoring system. I think this is going to be a new adventure. At least that is what I am telling myself. I did request a pink one with a bunny on it and they did say they would check into it. The St. Jude EP was very surprised that I even knew anything about it! Yay! I can still surprise some people. He asked how I had gained this knowledge and I explained that as a pacemaker patient I have education myself by reading everything I could about pacemakers. I still don't know very much, but I do know how to ask and to whom to ask. It was a great visit and I am very happy. Now I can enjoy the romantic weekend with my husband in Branson (Wedding anniversary of 39 years) and then the next weekend off to hospital to get a new pacemaker. I will be well healed before I hit the garden this Spring! The surgery is scheduled for 2:00 pm and I should be able to go home the same day. I do have blood clot issues, but I am on the adult aspirin and no HRT now so I should be ok.

Yes, I can do it all with just a little planning! In and out the Dr says. Oh and he said my weight is just fine for a lady with a dying pacemaker, a broken back and 39yrs married.... That I look great! hehehehhehehehhehhehe He cracks me up.

THANK YOU ALL for you support. You are the best group of friends to be found!

Love, Pacergirl

I didn't realize your battery was so low. But hey, you're getting a brand new pacer....yeehaw!

Is the "Accent" a Medtronic?

I had to giggle a little as an Accent in Canada is a car by Hyundai.

Are you serious about something actually being pink? Or are you pulling our leg?

How are you doing with your back injury???

You have a lot going on in your life, I don't know how you do it all. (I'm jealous) :)

Enjoy your anniversary.

Keep us posted.

I just LOVE your attitude. I've just returned after being a little busy at work and didn't seem to have time to read but everytime I come here, I learn and am amazed.. Having a few pains near my year and a half old pacemaker not sure what it is. But most important good luck and leet me know about the pink that would rule.
