My pm is set to the same 60/130. When wearing a hr monitor at rest i've seen my hr drop to 60 and stops there. As far as the high setting of 130 i'm not sure what that's about... i can easily get my hr above that (had it up to around 145 exercising.) Being that my top setting is 130 i try not to go above it though... usually exercise with my hr at 120. Hope that helps... shoot me a pm if you want Gary

Yes and No

The PM won't let your heart drop below the set LOW number, in your case 60 BPM.

The top number always confuses me but I am certain your HR is "allowed" to go above that.

Keep in mind that the PM will keep your heart from beating too slowly, NOT too fast.

Do a search via the gray horizontal bar at the top of this page and I'll bet you'll find the answer.

Diagnosis

Hi!

It depends on your diagnosis.

If you have a complete heart block, and your upper tracking rate is set at 130, then that's it, your heart rate won't go any higher. Also, if you had severe sinus bradycardia, and could not even get your heart rate up when exercising, and you now have the upper sensor rate at 130, it's unlikely that you'll be able to achieve higher rates, either.

On the other hand, with a functioning AV-node, and sinus bradycardia only at rest or when asleep, you might still be able to get your heart rate above 130. That could also be possible when you only have intermittent heart blocks that occur infrequently.
