I played nine holes today with some friends, and was surprised to find the following things out:
-I did not DIE from a lead dislocation or other complication
-I did not suffer from PACs during the round
-I had no pain in my incision site
-I beat people who golf on a regular basis
-My life is not over, contrary to popular opinion...
Anyone out there who is feeling like things won't get better - THEY WILL. I had a PM implant in April, and had some issues with depression and recovery. Still having some rhythm issues, but I am going to live a long and/or happy life. It will get better and you will move on.
I had an eagle opportunity and three biridie putts. I think my PM actually is helping my golf game and swing...
Enjoy the day.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
It does get better

Hello all,
Completely agree with DC, it does get better. I too had my PM in April 09. I recently returned from a 7 day trip to San Antonio with my 7 yr old grand-dtr. It was alot of fun and kept up with all her energy. The first month after my PM was not very good. Althougth I healed well, I became depressed and suffered frequent anxiety attacks. With lots of prayers, friends and my cardiac team I'm feeling like my old self again. Definitely get out there and enjoy life. We have been given another chance to be with our families and friends. Have a wonderful and blessed day. - Blanca
