Okay... maybe I am being overly optimistic but hey, why not make the best of having one of these darn things in your chest.
For those of us who like to work out... why can't our pacer interface with our Polar HRM's? I mean, who needs a stupid chest strap when you have leads right into your ticker to give an even more accurate HR. And for those who need to pace at or near 100% of the time, why not give them the ability to set their own HR through use of their watch/HRM?
GPS... just think about it, never lost again. Hell not just GPS, but how about OnStar...
And since we will have OnStar of course the thing will need to have BlueTooth. Hello, Mr. Smith we have detected you are about to get shocked by your ICD... you might want to sit down.
Those are the items on my wish list... anyone else have some upgrades they would like to see..
Oh and one other things... since our bodies produce a ton or energy in a lot of different way... why do the batteries on these EVER have to run down. Surely we can figure out some sort of recharge system...

Triple Bypass Training update
by COBradyBunch - 2010-05-10 02:05:52
Good, although dropping the lbs has been harder than it used to be. My climbing is improving considerably and I am able to keep my HR up for longer and longer periods of time. Need to be able to keep a sustained 90% for about 3 hours for the longest climb of the Triple. Weather in Colorado has not been that cooperative on weekends so right now I spin during the week and get rides in when I can. Went out Saturday morning and it hadn't even broken 40 yet when I left but at least got to 50 by the time I got back. Sunday before that was freaking cold but still put bike time in and that Saturday I was able to do 60 miles of mostly flats. Of course best weather of the entire spring fell on Mother's day and needless to say my wife would not have been happy if I told her I was heading out for a 4-5 hour bike ride...
Rolling, rolling, rolling, keeping those pedals moving...

we used to come up with silly pacer features back in the day on here. Glad to see there's still people on here that fancy a lighthearted moment or two.
OnStar and GPS has always been my favorite. We've also joked about syncing them to iPods.
I can't imagine that they'll ever allow US to control our own heart rates through a watch controller. It would be a conflict of interest coming in for all those interrogations and adjustments trying to get the rate response feature just right.
Ever see Enemy of the State? After I got my device I used to have dreams that some government mastermind implanted GPS tracking devices in our devices and were monitoring our every move. I mean, think about it.
Next PM generation

I have been thinking along those lines myself. Must be someone, somewhere who can come up with the technology.

I'd like mine to be able to turn the dryer back on when it stops & I'm not ready to fold. ;)

Alarm Clock... ICD's might be really good for this...

In my younger days my mother insisted I was too lazy to keep a self winding watch wound.

Like it isn't hard enough getting through security already and now Zombie has to get the Dept of Homeland Security worried about our pacemakers and ICD's....
Excuse me sir... please remove your pacemaker before boarding the aircraft...
You know you're wired when...
You have the perfect reason to show off your chest.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
How about a kinetic pacemaker

As long as you keep moving it constantly recharges itself.
I agree with a pm that can give us a digital readout on a wristband. What is so difficult about that? Any patents out there on this technology? Any inventers out there in PM Clubland?
To change the subject, you sound like you are doing very well. How's the training for the Triple Bypass going?
