I have a question for anyone that may have some experience or knowledge in this area. My heart doc told me that when I next have my pacer replaced he is bringing in a surgeon that will use a laser on the old wires and remove them before he puts in the new pacer and new wires.
I have never heard of this before.

You know you're wired when...

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.

If you do a search for lead extraction, you'll find a lot of posts about it here. Make sure the person they bring in does a minimum of 100 procedures a year, you want someone very experienced.
