Had this little device placed in the ole bod on 6/11/09, so I am just getting used to this little jewel. I have been very careful, and will see the doctor on 8/18/09 for a review, and he will advise me when I will be able to play golf once more. Any golfers out there please let me know how long it took you to get comfortable and play without worrying you may cause some harm. The last thing I want is to cause one of the leads come loose. Yep, I have two leads, and I don’t want the doc to open me up again because I dislodged one playing golf.

Lee,
My doctor tells me I will be able to return to horseback riding in about six week with no restrictions. I feel certain you will be able to do the same with your golf game. And, yes I have two leads as well.

Take it Slow

My Dr told me to wait 6 weeks before I swing a club. I had a family golf game after 4 weeks. I asked the Dr if I could play in the game and he reluctantly cleared me. I didn't have any problems when I played but the next day I was in agony. I thought I pulled out the wires. I called my Dr and he said to give it a day or two to see if it got better. It did. I just pulled on the scar tissue. I didn't play for a couple of weeks after that. The next time I played everything was fine. The Dr was right, 6 weeks was perfect. Half my problem is I swing like a gorilla. If I didn't swing so hard I would have been fine.
I got my pacer a year ago. I play once a week and I walk. I've had no problems at all and I still swing like an ape.
Good Luck
PM Leads

I have been reading comments on this site for only two months, and read where some of you have indicated that your lead/s had been separated. How do you know when a lead ceases to be attached? Does the heart beat changes or is it when you visit the doctor or the PM tech advises you.
Thanks in advance.

Do feel free to contact the manufacturer of your device. I have found them to be quite helpful when I have had questions and concerns.

You should be fine now.But ask your Dr. just to be sure. I was released with no restrictions after just 4 weeks. But other Drs. are more conservative. I do heavy work, Bowl and play golf and never had a problem. So If the Doc releases you have fun at your golf game if you can. I just get frustrated myself. Bowlrbob
