Better?...Not Sure

After 6 weeks I had my first "tweak" and frankly I feel worse. It was done on Friday so I have to wait until Monday to call doctor. I think she set it to high. It seems that my heart is beating faster, to the point that I feel more pressure and I can barely walk up the stairs to my bedroom. Is this usual after a tweak? And how long does it take to become accostomed to the "tweak". Thanks for any responses.

tweaking

I have a medtronic CRT unit. Six months after it was installed they had me in to optimize it. I was doing fine until then, I struggled for a month after that until I finally called and said i wanted my old settings back. While they were setting them back I told the medtronic rep about how bad I felt after they optimized mine. She said and I quote ( well they did get a little extreme). Anyway after I got my original settings back, I was OK. I am getting a new one the 21th of this month, hope I get the same settings as my old one.

You shouldn't feel worse. I'd call and tell them, ask to be seen again.

Sometimes the programming changes don't have the intended results. The heart is a complex device.

So the first thing to do is let them know.

It may all be in your head! Keep going up the steps, if only a step or 2 at a time. Don't think about it.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
