SAGITERION: TraceyE says it all. The only other thing is you soap and rinse the implant area gently, but well, each time you shower/bathe, etc.

When would you want to sterilize it? It is sterile when the hospital receives it to implant, and once it's implanted they don't mess with it until the battery dies and they give us a new one.
