Good Morning,
On February 28th of this year I received my first "shock" in over two years since implant...and within one week the docs gave me all the usual tests and they were all stable...as in, my heart was performing the same as before the shock.
However...it seems since the shock, I'm having more episodes of lightheadedness...either triggered by PVC's or non-sustained VT...they come, go and when they do I kinda just grimace anticipating a shock...and ride it out.
I intend to discuss this with my doc on the 19th.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Have a nice weekend!!!
P.S. Did anyone see the new episode of "The Big C" on Showtime...the husband has an ICD and it shocked him...funny scene...made me feel better.

Im sorry to hear about your shock, how did it feel? was it painful. I myself have a Crt-D and it was inplanted Dec 2011. Im always in fear and anxiety of it going off. Im scared of the pain and the place I will be at if it goes off.

I am no expert, but I believe that without the defibrillator that I have, I would be dead.

Thanks!
For me it was NOT painful...it felt like a moderate punch to the chest. Seconds prior to the shock I felt very strange, lightheaded and then POW. I didn't pass out and was conscious and responsive enough to call my doc and articulate the situation. I was hope in bed working on my laptop...7pm. The doc asked me how I felt...I said I was feeling some anxiety, but not bad enough to head to the ER. The next day I went to the Doc's office and they ran some tests in the ICD clinic to confirm the episode. My Doctor asked if I had any unusual stress that...I did!!!
Therefore...I avoid the bad stress as much as possible!!!
Good Luck!
