I had my PM installed 14th December. The first week was like hell, but I went to work each day and life is slowly coming back. I'll have my 2nd check at the hospital next week, and will ask for their advice on training and other things. But is there anybody with sports and exercise experience? I'm 63, very active and need a really good reason to take it easy the coming months!

The first thing that you should do is to login and under the forums tab on the left click on exercise and sports and read some posts. You can also do a search.
Welcome, I too had my PM installed at age 63, May 08, but it isn't an reason to take it easy. The basics are don't lift your left arm above the shoulder for the first 2 weeks, let the leads scar over. About 12 to 16 weeks before you can take a full swing at golf, but you can chip and putt when you feel up to it.
The basic ROT [rule of thumb] is listen to you body. A lot of us are walking day one out of the hospital. If you body says that you are over doing it then back off.
Otherwise get out there and live.
Later,
Charlie

Walked home from hospital

I had the operation Monday 14th in the evening, walked home from the hospital Tuesday morning and had a board meeting at 1300 hours, so the operation was certainly quite well done. But the rest of the week was hell!
