Hey there, my surgery is this morning at 11am. I have to be to the hospital at 9am. I did not sleep at all last night and I am so tired. I may fall asleep before they give me the I.V of goodies; lol. I am definitely nervous but I am trying to stay positive. I know will all be ok; still I am nervous as this is my first surgery. This no drinking or eating after midnight is no fun; I am so thirsty; I'm a big water drinker. I understand why no food, but I do not get the no water because water passes out of your system pretty fast; maybe 4hrs prior so your not having to pee or something. Any way Thanks to everyone for your posts and comments as they have helped me soooo matuch. Before finding this site I was truly lost and a wreck. I will post back as soon as I can. If my phone comes in at the hospital I'll post after my surgery from the hospital...live from hospital..lol Thanks again :))

Bodily function

When I had my PM "Antny", my name for it, implanted last year, it was done as an emergency surgery. This was also my first operation ever, and, fortunately did not have much time to think about it.
I think the reason for the no water, is because when one goes under, one might lose control of certain bodily functions. Which can get rather messy.
I'm sure all will go well, and you'll be back at home soon.

Thinking of you this morning, Paul. I'm sure everything's going to go well and you'll feel heaps better for the pacer's input. Now, no running straight after the op! Wait until you get home, please! Seriously, I hope you'll be up-and-running, literally, very soon. Also hope you see this before you leave for the hospital. The time differences are confusing and I don't know which continent you're on. Be safe and well, and let's know how things are going. Kind wishes. Sheila

...in no time. Things should go relatively smoothly and you will be back into your routine before you know it. Hoping the best for you.
