PM Surgery

Well Im getting ready for my hospital stay. I have a lot of food allergies so I have to take plenty of food with me. I have to be there at 10 am and my PM surgery is at 1pm. I have to get there so early because they have to blood type me and give me a blood transfusion because my platelet count is so low. I should be getting my bone marrow aspiration results today; but not the biopsy for 2weeks. The hematologist said that the results today will confirm his diagnosis of ITP which is an autoimmune disease where your immune system eats your blood platelets. He said that they might keep me in the hospital few days to monitor me after the surgery due to the ITP. I am having some bleeding problems and this is concerning to him when it comes to surgery. My capillaries in my feet and ankles are bleeding under my skin creating little red blood spots called petechia. Hopefully all will go well and this PM will help me out a lot with the recovery from all my auto immune disease and ulcers. Monday I am having my endoscopy to find cause of ulcers and to see if there is anything else that is wrong. I cant wait as I am so tired of all the stomach pain. My stomach constantly burns. Well I have to go get ready. Today will be great and I am finally getting somewhere with my health problems. This will be one problem fixed and thank GOD. :)) thank you all for your answers, comments, prayers, jokes, and kind words. This site has made a world of difference in my life.

Thank you all so much :) I'm about to leave for the hospital; waiting on my ride. I am so hungry...doesn't fasting suck? lol ;) I am hoping today everything will go on time. Last time I was there they were running behind and going without eating is really hard right now with the liquid-type diet they have me on with me eating every 2-3 hrs; its really hard going 12 wow. Maybe it will get easier :)) I have to fast again monday for my endoscopy/biopsy. Ill become a surgery/fasting pro after all is said and done lol. Thanks again to everyone and sending positive thoughts and prayers for everyone. :))

Good Wishes

I just got home for my surgery and for once in my life (this being my 11th surgery) it went like clock work, no problems whatsoever. I'm am thrilled.

This was the first time I was ever a nervous wreck too, and it all went fine. Funny how that works.

Anyways, I'm still thinking about you and have my fingers and toes crossed for a good outcome for you too!

Stay strong,

Your friend,
Pookie

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
