questions

I had my impant in december of 2009 and had a lead line replacement in Feb of 2010, I am now looking to get back in the gym to get all of this extra weight that I put on off of me, I wanted to know if I am going to be able to bench press without worrying about running the risk of my lead line/wire snapping. Is there anyone out there that can shed a bit of insight please????

Thanks!

Dennard

There are a few drs who don't like us bench pressing but most of them say it's ok. They have plenty of give in them, they bend a long way before they snap. As long as you feel ok doing it, go for it! If it pulls or doesn't feel right, you should discuss it with your dr.

Its pretty much up to you

You are well past the time period where most docs will tell you not to, but if you are unlucky enough you may have one that is uneasy about it.

The main issue is whether you are the type that will panic every time you feel a twinge. In that case give it up.

Arm movement

I agree, ask you DR. I do not lift weights but am a swimmer. I was swimming, with resistance gloves after 5 months which I would assume is triple the arm movement of lifting weights. I still had and have a concern when I get a strange feeling but my DR assures me it is safe. Good luck to you with your goals. It feels great to work out again! Take it at your own pace!

Thank you for the insight, I am usually panicky when I feel something funny, but I'm much more focused on shedding this extra weight and get my body healthy.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
