Having 3rd ablation tomorrow......

Hi all. Tomorrow I'm going into hospital for my 3rd ablation.

My first 2 ablations were near my sinus node & I got my PM 3 months after the 2nd ablation as it caused sick sinus syndrome with chronotropic incompetence, due to sinus node damage,

This 3rd ablation is in a totally different place....this time just above my AV node. My EP has warned me there is a risk of overlap with my AV node & I could end up with complete heart block, with or without a sustained underlying rhythm (his words, which I also have in writing). Meds have failed (& I'm intolerant to others) so my EP said this ablation is now my only option. I trust him 100%.

He said my ECG on exertion is totally erratic & all over the place (his words) & it's no wonder I haven't been able to function or do much for the last 9 months.

My thanks to donr, TraceyE, IANMC & SueUK for all your encouragement & support with this, & for answering all my questions. I'm going in tomorrow feeling quite positive that even if I end up PM dependent, I'll have my life back.

The last 9 months have been hell with this arrythmia. I was feeling great in January, having recovered from my PM op, had taken up walking & other things & felt better than I'd felt in years. Then all this started in February & it has been downhill ever since.

So I'm looking forward to getting my life back.

Been told I'll be in hospital for 2 nights post ablation, so I'll be in touch when I get back home.

PLEASE be thinking of me tomorrow!! Many thanks.

Best wishes
Janey
