I was in Walmart yesterday with my daughter and she got some earrings at the jewelry dept. We paid for the items then set off the security system. I pulled out my card as always when I set them off (usually going in some stores). The jewelry was what was setting the system off. The Walmart greeter went and took a machine off the wall. He then scanned the item to deactivate it. My daughter caught me as my legs buckled out from under me. It was a real weird feeling but it passed real soon after. I don't think he was supposed to do that with me standing there. I have a rate response on my PM. Is that why all these strange things are happening???

Most PM's and ICD' s can be shut off with a magnet placed over it. It should beep as well. They go right back into operation when it is removed.

Target

Hi Teresa,
I actually work for Target and have a low tolerance standing between the sensors by the exit for an extended period of time such as when I have trouble locking the doors. After I move away from them I feel fine again but have no problem casually walking through them. I have read this topic before and what I recall is just avoid standing in that magnetic field for a prolong period of time. I also recall that the PM will function normally after you remove yourself from the area. Strange thing, I also have the same issue when the bailer/compactor is activated so I step away from those also while in operation. Hopefully you felt fine afterwards.
