Light Spark

Hello I have had a Biotronik ICD installed for 3 years and 1 day. I was told by my doctor if it ever went off I would know about it for sure.

Last two days I have had a sore left arm, a pain on the left side of my neck/shoulder and it hurts to look hard to the left (such as checking toward the back when backing my car).

This evening I was walking in Wal-Mart and felt what seemed like a very light spark in my ICD. I have never felt this before, even at the clinic at my doctor's when they are tweaking my device.

Was this in my head, or was it a spark? Do ICD's have different levels of spark treatment? I went to the Biotronik website and found no information about this.

Thanks

In my experience an "event" the term Medtronic uses is Really noticeable, so just from an antedotal view I'd say no.......some ICDs do pace your heart pack into a healthy rythem, prior to an event...theat might give a sensation but honetly never sure

My guess would be that you have something going on in that left arm and shoulder that could be the source of the spark feeling. It is easy to pinch a nerve in that area resulting in sudden twinges. Could be related to the implanted ICD, but not likely an actual cardiac jolt.
