I too am curious about pacer's diets.
Mine includes - Oatmeal; (lots of) fruit; fish; chicken, yogurt, bread, whole grain spaghetti
Mine excludes - processed foods,
minimizes red meats and a lot of good stuff.

As much as possible, I avoid processed foods. Red meat once or occasionally twice a week, white meat or fish the other days. Lots of greens and salads, smaller portions of carbs, favouring wholemeal/wholegrain bread and rice, one piece of fruit or small glass of juice a day, a glass or two of wine with dinner and a couple of beers on Friday night.
Learning to cook is an invaluable life skill. I cannot bear the thought of eating microwave TV dinners. Once a week I will eat something "bad" like a chinese take out. I aint a saint and it gives us a break from cooking one day a week :-) Probably explains why I am a stone over where I want to be but my BMI is in the green as is my blood pressure and cholestoral level.
I run or walk 3-5 miles most days and I cycle my kid to school (4 miles round trip), Some light strength training a couple of days a week.
Could be better I suppose, but could be much worse too!

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.

My dr has never told me to do any certain diet but I'm a bit fanatic about staying fit and eating well. I was born with a wonky electrical system so I'm not going to complicate by getting plumbing problems I could have prevented.
I've had trouble maintaining my weight since I went on beta blockers so I've gotten much more strict about my diet. I've always avoided fatty, fried, salty, or processed foods. Now I've mostly cut out all the whites- flour, sugar, rice, potato. Most of my diet is fruit, veggies, lean protein, nuts, starches mostly sweet potato, quinoa, brown rice.

I never did any exercise before I was paced. My rate never went up (congenital) so sports were out of the question. I haven't really been still since the stitches came out after that first one.
