Can police radar guns being used towards or near a person with a pacemaker cause interference?

Radar guns & pm

My son-in-law is a police officer and I felt I was going to pass out when I was standing right next to him when he was showing me how fast it clocks a car. I moved away and felt fine again. So in my opinion it affects the pm if too close.
Taser? Look at it this way

The tests they quote are correct in that the Taser jolt won't damage the pacemaker and won't cause problems to a healthy heart. What they don't address are secondary effects.
For someone who is very susceptible to Vfib a small jolt can trigger it especially if the Taser hits an area very near or on the pacemaker or it's leads. In this case the Taser jolt can be conducted by the leads directly into the heart wall where very small amounts of current can be a problem.
Another possibility is the sudden rise in blood pressure caused by the stress of the Taser shock and/or the severe muscle contractions from it. Vulnerable situations would be aneurysms, congestive heart failure, potential stroke.
For someone with a new pacer the sudden movement of being shocked could also displace a lead.
For the last several years I have visited the Taser International booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. I have been unable to get anyone from Taser to address these issues. They just repeat the standard statement.
Having said all this there is no doubt it is better to be Tasered than shot. Only problem here is that users are being told they are completely safe so some get cavalier about using them.

Hi,
I will ask my hubby if they cause problems - I do know that a taser gun can kill you when having a pacemaker. There was a case recently with an older woman and that happened - if a younger person gets tased, good possibility it could fry you. I will find out - hubby works with alot of sheriff's. That was a good question.
