Tingling

I was just wondering....does anyone have any problems with tingling ( it's like burning needles inside my skin) since their device. I had a pacemaker/defibrillator installed 11/05 and the tingling/burning started in 1/06. It can happen anywhere in the body ( and I mean anywhere) at any certain time. I do notice that it is worse when I eat something with more salt (i never add salt to anything anymore) . I have had all kinds of tests, and none of the doctors ( most the tests have been done at Mayo Clinic) can figure it out. I have learned to live with it, but just wondering if anyone else have every experienced anything like it.
Compared to some of the problems I have read on line that other people are have with pm/icd, I am not complaning....just wondering.
Thanks for this club, I have had so many questions answered, without asking them. I'm sorry it took me 5 year to find it.

I hate to stir the waters.... however if the problem is "anywhere in your body" it does not point to a localised problem like a lead, but a general body disturbance, either chemical, allergic, or generalised nervous system generated. Should you be on medication then that would be a good place to start. It may have nothing to do with the pacemaker/defibrillator, as anyone may develop, for example, appendicitis the day after pacemaker implantation; this does not necessarily mean the two are associated.
It is an interesting problem and I would love to know the cause. I look forward to hearing whether you have it tracked down. I have never heard of this.

About a year and a half after the PM, I got the tinglies too. Never know when, but generally on the left side from waist up to shoulder and even neck. got the tests. I am ok. so they say. no problem. just very annoying. been over six months now with it and I am still not used to it. A few in the club said it could be the nerve diagnosis. MSG...never use it that I know of. but a good idea to check. I take no medication except bisninprol- nothing else. Not sure about food problems, but if I find something, I will be sure to share. Ann

Thanks everyone for your helpful advice. I have seen a Neurologist, and all my leads checked and everything is good. I am now trying to figure out when I started my meds, if it was before 2005 (when all the surgery was done) My son -in-law now wants me to check everything I eat and see if there is a lot of MSG that I am using. It is something to look into. I guess the best part of watching what I am eating....i could lose a few pounds.
