A friend of ours is having a heart cath and they want to then seal the wound with this AngioSeal and some people have told me there can be severe complications, anyone know about this?

I have had many angiograms with ballooning.stents, etc and I have never had a problem when they used the angioseal. The most severe complication that can happen is it won't seal and the femoral artery will bleed however that is true for any of the closing methods they choose. If they are uncomfortable with the angioseal they can and should ask more questions about it and see if they have another closing devices they can use but my guess would be it will be just fine. Hope everything goes well for your friend.

I'm not sure what you are talking about here but,,,,if it is like super glue over your incision....I had that just 2 1/2 weeks ago...and still have some of it on me. Seemed to work good for me.

It made a HUGE difference in my life. Once I got it, I was finally able to run, and ride my bike long distances.

I had an angiogram in Aug. 07 and they used the angioseal. It worked great. I had never heard of it before. My mom had an angiogram months before mine and she had to stay in longer at the hospital with a nurse applying pressure to the site. So having the angioseal allowed me to not be there so long. Have your friend just ask lots of questions to get reassurance. Hope your friend does well. Good luck.
