I have had a pacemaker since I was 6 and I am now 24. I got a new pacemaker in 12/08. Before this pacemaker I never had any problems, but ever since I got this new pacemaker I have had fast heart rates and my heart beat will speed up even when I'm sitting. Today when I woke up it was 95 bpm and around 10am it was 56 bpm. Does anyone know what this may be caused by?

You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
Could be the self test

The newer pacers run a periodic self test which involves pacing you heart at a higher and lower rate. The test is run at times that are set by the cardiologist when they program the pacer.
If it is bothersome ask about it. You can also request that you have a checkup with the Medronic factory rep. The generally are much more knowledgeable about the device.
