Hi. Background:
In 2011 I had a aortic valve replace, ascending aorta and then a pacemaker due to the severing of my av node. All seemed to be going quite well and then I herniated my L5 S1 requiring me to under go back surgery. You see, I used to be a mountain guide and was the image of physical fitness. The last couple of years have really taken a toll on me and I am desperate to get back to somewhere near normal.
All was going well, both surgeries went extremely well, but since my back surgery I get extremely dizzy when ever I try to lift anything or even when I lift my arms over my head. Cardio wise everything seems fine, but I always feel tired after a work out. I am really wanting to make 2014 the year of full recovery.
After back surgery I went to the pm clinic and found that the people who performed my back surgery changed my pm settings. They lowered my hr to 50 fro 60 and turned on the auto diagnostics which Had never been turned on before. At first I thought this was great as it requires less battery power and I liked the idea of having a resting hr at a lower setting. Now I am not so sure. My cardiologist says everything looks fine but he did not address my pm. I believe this is a pm issue. It seems a odd coincident that ever since my back surgery I've had these dizzy spells (some even bring me to my knees). I have noticed that it is worse when I am dehydrated. Anyone have experienced anything similar? Have any of you figured out what can be done? I'm going to contact the pm clinic tomorrow and try to bump up my appointment to this month because I feel like not wanting to do anything these days... Part worried and part just not feeling up to it. I want to get back to normal. Thanks

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
