10 days post PPM implant

After a SA node ablation 12 years ago, I knew I would need a PPM eventually. Sinus node dysfunction, long pauses, HR in the 20's, and recent near syncopal episode would lead to my new PPM. After having it placed 8/2/11 I immediately felt better. I was encouraged by other posts I read on this site & hope other newbies will be encouraged by my experience. The hardest part is staying compliant with not raising my left arm & not lifting anything over 5 pounds. (My dogs are not happy.)

Tell the dogs you'll soon be able to play with them :-)

HI Liz

Good to hear you are doing well. I had my PM put in on the 1/8 and have the same disorder. Are you doing any activity like running ? or still taking it easy.

Thankyou

Caroline

Taking it easy, now

The day after I was discharged I went out of town for a short vacation with friends. I felt every bump in the road! Since I arrived back home, I've been taking it easy & going for short walks because of the 100+ degree heat that we're having. I continue to feel better daily except for some slight dizziness yesterday. I have a checkup next week & look forward to returning to work after that. I never knew I was feeling so bad until I felt so good with my new minimum HR.
