"One on four Britons take less than half an hour of continuous exercise a month". This astonishing figure was given in a speech yesterday by a Government health minister.
Wherever you live probably has similar statistics.
He went on to say that far too much emphasis is being given to obesity when the real silent killer is chronic inactivity. It's not only the size of the waist that matters ; it is the fitness of the heart !
Anyway it has exhausted me writing this so I'm going for a lie down now !

Like you I am a great lover of Pamela Anderson and an avid fan of the silicone industry so I once set off for the great US of A to observe a nation of finely-tuned , highly exercised bodies at closer quarters. I hate to disillusion you but the reality was far from that.
I still have nightmares about some of the sights I had to endure , Elvis Presley on his deathbed was quite slim in comparison to many
...but before I am accused of being racist I must report that Europe is catching up with America. We still have a hell of a way to go in the blubber stakes though
Anyway, as you know, I lied earlier about having to rest after my post. I am on holiday AGAIN in the Canary Islands and went for a run along a coastal path by the Atlantic this afternoon, then a game of tennis.
I feel quite depressed if I go a single day without exercise
which is why I found those statistics so alarming
Keep exercising !

Just to let you know Pamela Anderson just ran and completed the New York Marathon. She didn't wear her swim suit though, but she did look good.
You know Elvis Presley was found dead in his bathroom.
His actual cause of death was straining at stool. What a way to go.
So be careful when you go, go, go.
My wife thinks my motto is exercise can fix everything. And you know I think it can. I have a guy on my golf team who is 85 and still play a great round.
Keep exercising!

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.

..................................it has been so long since last we spoke..
Your report shocks me to the core, as, an avid watcher of Baywatch, I thought that most of the free world were enjoying the perfect , healthy lifestyle that is portrayed on our honest / truthfull televisual broadcasters...
Please do not disabuse me of my illusion..
Surely we can still take our lead from Colonel Bucket,..Golden Belly Arches,..Pizza Heart Condition. ??
I, but a poor man ( as P + Garfunkel once said )..am left to dine on the left-overs of a Real Society..I mean,..who really wants to eat locally grown , fresh, tasty vegetables when an overpriced, shed-full off dross can be had for a large part of your salary ??
IAN MC..the trick is to eat a tonnage of Mc Poo and then jog round Central Park, ready in time to get some more Mc Poo in you..
This is the trick..
Eat lass
Drink water
Move about a bit..voluntarily
And that, my dear IAN MC is the crux of the matter...
Move about a bit, like, on your legs, like , not in the car..
