Hi Everyone, I wrote a post here a few weeks ago about how upset I was with ICD battery change. It stuck up so bad on my chest it was really uncomfortable. After the surgery I started to have severe phrenic nerve palpatations that made my whole body shake and interfered with my speech. The Doctor tried to adjust it several times with no sucess so I went back into surgery 3 weeks after the first surgery. They changed my battery to a boston scientific, which it thinner then metronic, they had to place another lead ( they left the original one in and just disconnected it) and they also went under the muscle. I have to say I was in extreme pain when I woke up. I've never felt pain like that before. I had it done on November 23rd and by the 5th day I was off pain medication. I went back the work today(exactly 1 week after surgery) and put in a full day. I had some pain today but it was ok. I have not had a palpatation since the surgery and you would have to really look closely at my chest to notice something there if not for the scar. It was definately worth what I went through and I still have several weeks of recovery but I'm so happy with the results. I am 45 years old and active and can't wait to start enjoying life again!!

You know you're wired when...
You play MP3 files on your pacer.

I can't wait to give my son a run for his money again in the park again.
Glad you got it fixed

Sorry you had to go through the pain of changing pacers, but it's great that it solved the problem. This is a much better solution than trying to adjust around it.
No telling whether it was the pacer or the lead they replaced.
