Unfelt ICD Discharge

Hi All
I recently had a routine device check up. The test showed that my ICD had responded to two incidents with shocks both around 2am while I was sleeping. From reading other accounts of ICD shocks the general sense I get is, that it is something that would have woken me and or would have felt something. My doctor told me this also. Anyone experienced this or have input to help me with this? I always appreciate everyone taking the time to help.

I've Had Two ICD Shocks

Jeff

I have had my ICD go off twice and recue me from two VT's and never felt them. Both time I just passed out without warning and then woke up wondering what happened because people all around me are panicking. Both times I went to my cardiologist for him to verify I had ICD discharges. I felt great before and after.

The only thing I felt each time is a little burning in my chest at spots. I could imaging you had them, they might of woke you up but you when back to sleep because nothing felt different.

Thanks everyone for the input. I was told that the shocks the device gave me a full shock. I was asked about sleep apnea while my ICD was being read, but did not know of the correlation between the heart issues and sleep apnea thanks for that info. I do understand the opinions of doctors vary and how frustrating that can be times, when your just trying to get the best information for a decision. My Cardiologist has postponed any decisions until she has more input from another electrophysiologist. Will get back when they make a decision. Thanks again
