LVAD - Biventricular Pacemaker

It is completely normal to have a pacemaker with a left ventricular assist device (lvad). This is just another type pacemaker often called a biventricular PM as it has three leads. It is used if the person has a low ejection fraction, or some other problem with the left ventricle that the Dr feels can be improved with a biventricular pacemaker. This type pacemaker is not implanted as often as the single or two lead devices, but they are becoming more popular.
For more information on the bivent PM go to Google and put in "biventricular pacemaker."
