Did any one feel pain when you were given the shot to numb the surgical area ?

Sure but not much

I was wide awake during the whole procedure so felt the pin prick of the needle. Certainly wasn't any big thing. In fact the whole implant was easy and it was great to feel the pacer being turned on.

I had gas first. I think I had an IV too. I don't recall any pain from shots, but I do recall having some pain when they were poking around in there. At which point I said "Ow," and I think they gave me more through the IV or gas.

I'll answer your question with a question and let you decide. Have you ever had a shot and not feel some pain? I will add it takes just a few seconds for the anesthetic to kick in
