New To the Forum
Hello everyone!!
I am new to this forum. Merry Christmas to all. Just had my second defib/heart pacing implant on December 21th. Home recovering at this time. I thank God for modern technology! Would hope to make friends and spread some smiles and humor to all.

Thank you so much! My leads did not have to be replaced and I thank God for that. Rest, prayer and pain medicine are on the daily menu. I am so grateful to be alive!!

Both my original and replacement went very easy. I gave each plenty of time to heal before I got active (like maybe 6 hours). I just make sure I didn't raise that arm above shoulder level.
By now you are experienced and know the drill.

Merry Christmas!
I think that I was more edgy behind the replacement than I was the original. With the original, I was so sick that I did not even know what i was getting at the time. The sad thing about it was I did not have anyone around me that knew anything about the defib that I could talk to. Some people were even scared to touch me because they thought I was going to shock them. How about that?????? My grandson told me the other day that he thought I was getting something like a car battery placed inside of me...............

Thank you for your kind words. I definitely understand the purpose for the defib and each day I give glory to God for the gift that He has given me. When I am able to hear the birds sing in the morning and see the sky no matter what color it is, my eyes lift upward in total praise. Our days are good sometimes and others are just so so but we are still here.

Welcome to the group - I have found it very comforting and supportive to have somewhere you can just vent, good or bad. I too have a defib and even after 3 years still have the odd moment. This is more to changes in my condition than anything else but every time it happens I thank God it's there helping me continue to live life with my husband and kids.
Rest up while you can - you'll be back to normal in no time.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
