I only had my PM installed yesterday but am emotional and washed out. I felt great before I went in and was looking forward to felling even better. Is this normal postop blues

Hi Julie, as they have said each experience is unique, but PM inplant is not an alternative to a visit to the Podiatrist.
Weeks, maybe months of cardio concerns, anaesthetic, stress, being bounced around as they get your leads set up right, being away from home, fear, relief..you fill in the rest...
Yes, it will be ok...just maybe it will take time to get used to the idea / feeling of living with your 'new best friend'
Take it easy for a bit...Hey get spoilt !!
Keep in touch with PM Club as you wish...there are some really great people there to happily support you.

Had mine 15 Des 2011 and the first time i ever have been close to fainting was 2 days after. Took about a week before it started to feel right. Now feels like a million bucks compare to the last month before implant.
good luck
Early days yet

The procedure itself takes a few days to get over, give it time, rest up and enjoy being pampered for a day or two.
Best wishes

...normal. The post op feelings are as individual as we are.
I came out feeling like a million bucks. On way home from hosp stopped at The Home of the Pot & bought lumber for our house. Next day I was using it. Other than being sore from a bad cut on my chest, Ifelt fine.
OTOH: I've discovered that just being zonked by the anesthesia is enough to make you feel a bit hung over. The reaction to anesthesia is a second factor - perhaps you are feeling that as opposed to feeling "That way" from the cutting & planting!
Give it a day or two before passing judgement on the procedure as a pass/fail sort of thing.
Julie, as you read through here, you will find that there are thousands of setting combos in a PM. They set yours up w/ some "Typical" settings - maybe you need something different. Too soon to tell that. you must recover from the cutting & zonking before that is obvious.
Good luck.

you will feel better...i had my pm put in on sep 2011 and its painful and you feel helpless. but its all part of the healing process...it takes a few weeks to recover where you can be out and about, but you will get there...
i am now and have been working out for the past three months...i go to the gym and do cardio, no weights just yet. i go on my 5 to 7 mile hikes on weekends.
you will get better, just be patient and you will feel back to normal.

thanks so much to everyone. Day 3 after op still feel like deadman walking but called cardiologist and she said it was postop anaesthetic even though it was a local with sedatives. Your comments have been very encouraging and I took the advice and watched movies and slept all day. Luck I am on holidays in sunny Australia. My BP seems eratic at times 115/48 and 185/71 at two times which rattled me a bit but it was okay when I took it later but pulse rate was good.70s thanks again.
You know you're wired when...

It made a HUGE difference in my life. Once I got it, I was finally able to run, and ride my bike long distances.
Been there

You have described my experience exactly. I got my PM on Dec. 22 and felt like you described for several days. I was getting quite worried and depressed about it, but last week after having the PM for about 15 days, I started feeling better. Just hang in there, I feel sure you will start feeling better soon too.
