rash on face
well seems another problem has come up...I am on toprol xl and digoxin...I had my pacemaker-defib put in jan 2012...thought everything had kinda settled down..Now I have rash on my cheeks, side of face and on my neck...have been to 4 doctors and noone can decide what it is...I had a biopsy taken thur but will be 7 days until I get the results...Now,,,has anyone ever been allergic to the medal in the pacemaker or to the troprol or digoxin??? they are wondering if it is something to do with the troprol since it says it can cause a rash in some people...Question is has anyone else had this problem???

Hi anniesu ... you are taking two drugs, both which can cause rashes. With both, the rashes may not occur until you've been taking them for a few weeks.
The only solution is to stop one at a time until you find the culprit .
It is far more likely to be the drugs causing it than the PM
Best of luck and I hope it clears up quickly

Thanks for your comments...I just looked up digoxin and yes it sure does cause rash on some people and so does toprol xl...I also had floaters in one eye and blurry this morning which has cleared up now...I see dogoxin can cause that also...Maybe the biopsy will tell me if it is drug related...Wow the rash had spread to both sides on my face yesterday and also down the front of my neck. Its been a week now...doesnt itch anymore but nice and bright red....I need the meds but I sure dont want the rash all the time or the blurry vision..Guess I will wait and see the results of biopsy...If anyone else has a answer let me know ,thanks
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.
Digoxin

It may be from the Digoxin. I was on it several years ago and broke out in a rash on my arms and back of my legs and the doctor suspected it was from the medication. They checked my blood level for the medication and it was very low, but they had me stop the medication anyway. The rash eased up and over the next few days went away. Digoxin is known to cause rashes and it's a medication that really need to be monitored. Hope they get it figured out for you soon!!
