Hi all,
Nice to read about all the PRs. I did 10 miles in NY just last week in Riverside park and 7 around the reservoir in Central Park. I think age more than a pacemaker is going to keep me from ever setting any new PRs. NY parks are looking good and we had cool clean air in June. I am now back home in Atlanta where I don't do so well in the high heat and humidity.
I have bradychardia with a tendency towards a-fib. I have a dual chamber St Jude with vibration sensor. My HR increases on its own with exercise but not quite sufficiently.
My battery is running down about 6 months early and I want plenty of time to discuss what the best unit is for me with my cardiologist. I run, ride, ski and play tennis. My current St. Jude has a vibration sensor which I find insufficient for tennis biking and skiing. It seems to catch a good rythm with jogging after some slope tweaking with the techs. The biking and skiing are too smooth and I think tennis is just a demanding sport for a fairly fit 50 year old. What new mechanisms do they have for quick response demand heart rate adjustments? Is any one company better than the others for athletic patients with devices?
Thanks, Schmerl

You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

Do feel free to contact the manufacturer of your device. I have found them to be quite helpful when I have had questions and concerns.

I had a medtronic for nine years and just recently got a new one. They put in a medtronic adapta - look it up. It is supposed to adjust as you need it and stores up to 14 months of information for your doctor. With all your activity, it is worth looking into.Never had any problems with the first and so far going okay with the second. Of course, I am not active like you are being I am 69 with a bad back.
Good luck
