Supermarket checkouts

Hi, can anyone advise? I have had my PM 3 weeks and have noticed feeling a bit queasy twice whilst checking out at my supermarket. There is a lot of electronic gadgetry around the check out tills with tills, card readers etc. Does anyone know if they can affect a PM, or am I getting a little paranoid? Any sensible views would be welcome! I'm not nuts , honest. No really....I think.
Thanks
Roy

PM Interference

Hey Roy,

One thing I have learned is to never say never when it comes to a PM. Although I would be surprised it were affected by the electronics at the checkout causing your queasy feeling. An irregular heart beat yes, but I know of no other symptoms of PM interference you may expect. Please don't be offended by this, but I suspect you may have a little anxiety playing a trick on you. The next time it happens take three or four steps away from whatever you think may be causing the problem and see if it doesn't stop in a few seconds.

A years or so ago I was leaving a Walmart and had to stop in a security gate while fatso in front of me had their packages checked. I suddenly had a very irregular heart beat. I recognized the cause of my problem and took a few steps away from the gate and my heart beat returned to normal in a few seconds.

You have had your PM only three weeks so I am guessing you haven't had a checkup yet. When you do have one part of the process is for the technician to put a magnet over your PM so they can download information or make any necessary settings changes. When the magnet is first placed over the PM you may notice what I am talking about on the irregular heart beat.

I will add one thing. You are apparently new to the PM brotherhood. As time goes by you will hear many do's and don'ts when it comes to that PM. That security gate and the magnet at checkup time are the only things I have found that affected my PM and I have exposed it to about every "don't" you can name.

Good luck,

Smitty

......not as far as I know , anyway, (and if you are; I am too ). If you try searching on this site under "Supermarkets" or " Stores" ,or something similar, you will see previous posts on the subject.

Most people seem to think that it's proximity to the security devices at the store entrances which causes the interactions with the PM's.

I mentioned it to my cardiologist, thinking that he would send me to the nearest psychiatrist but his response was " Ah, Supermarket Syndrome, yes it is well-documented "

But, there is a cure..persuade your wife to do all of the shopping !

Cheers

Ian

l have experienced this too,( not all the time) & have asked the same question but apparantly there is no reason for it to affect our PM, maybe you just dont like parting with the cash !!!!
Seriously though, l work in a shop & our till is very basic but l can sometimes feel a bit "strange" when l am by the counters as they are refrigerated & l feel a "vibration"off them which has only been noticable since l had my PM but l take no notice as l am sure it is not doing me any harm.
You have only had your PM a very short time & l am sure what you are experiencing is harmless if its not then some of the very wise people on this site will put you right.
Take care, Sue x
