Rightward axis?
I have been taking my meds for junctional rhythm for almost 2 weeks and not getting any better. My rhythm seems to be getting worse, I was dizzy from friday night til this morning and then this morning I was having the palpatations for 10 minutes straight at a time. This weeks was really rough for me at work, on friday they did an ekg on me at work (I work in a hospital), I was not having palpatations or dizziness at the time but the ekg showed accelerated junctional rhythm and rightward axis. Does anyone know what the rightward axis means and one of the nurses said it looked like I had a little ischemia, I asked her what that meant and she said maybe a little damage to the heart. Could that be from the ablations that I have had this year? I go back to the dr on friday so I'm hoping he can shine some light on what my next options are going to be. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Help my pacemaker has fired !!
by Jt64 - 2012-11-18 08:11:12
Hi all, new to this site, well I'm sat on my sofa waiting for my appointment tomorrow morning at 9am to see my cardiologist. I hope he can tell me what's going on, to explain, I was working on friday night in my studio, I am a photographer, I was photographing a family mum dad and a 14 month old child, I was trying to make the child smiles so I did what I always do, act stupid, pull funny faces and what not !! Anyway! 2 mins into the session I felt a pain in the back of my neck and head like I've never felt before, it felt like I had been hit with a baseball bat !! I didn't feel anything before no dizziness or chest pains and nothing afterwards !! Just very embarrassed as I found myself lying on the floor in front of my sitters !! Thee was several people stood behind me at the time and they said it was like someone had kicked me in the back and I was flung forward!! Not I'm not a small chaps 20st so t would take quite a force to fling me anywhere !! I called 999 and the paramedics came and took me to the hospital where I was given an ECG and bloods, the doctor said that I hadn't had a heart attack and that I could go home and come back monday!!
Anyway what im asking this group if anybody has had this happen to any of you guys, I only had my I C D put in in june of this this year following an SVT
Thanks
Jerry

How to read an ECG

Daisy: You just asked the time - I'm going to tell you how to build a watch first.
You have asked about something that is somewhat esoteric - witness the discussion you had w/ your nurse buddies about what your ECG looks like & its meaning.
So, I'm gonna make you smart, right now. Go to this link & read it. BEFORE you READ - scan your way down the article, it'll show you where the term axis come into play & show you a diagram of the many axes of the voltages involved in ECG's.
I've rooted around in the Web looking for something simple to explain all this stuff. This article tells you the history of the ECG, so you can see how the axis business became logical for explaining how a heart works.Sometimes, understanding the history of a procedure/test/device helps understand why we talk about them as we do.
