Update

Hi all,

I went back to my ep dr yesterday and once again my pacing percent has went down to 55% which is 3% lower than 2 weeks ago. The accelerated junctional rhythm is continuing to get worse, has became even more active as now it is waking me up in the middle of the night. My dr explained to me that my first 2 ablations they knocked out areas in my sinus node due to IST, after those didn't work I went in for my 3rd ablation which they knocked out an area a little further down from the sinus node, he explained this as in area between the sinus and av node in which I ended up with a single lead pacemaker. Now with this new rhythm its over riding my pacemaker, I have been taking beta blockers trying to suppress it but not working so he put me on multaq. He said this is my last option and if it didn't work he could ablate the av node and put in new 2 lead pacemaker. I am really hoping the multaq will work but have had no results as of yet but i'm giving it time. My dr is totally leaving the decidion up to me, I am very symtomatic with this rhythm like palpatations, dizziness, weak, lack of appetite, and weightloss. I was wondering if anyone has had experience in this, my dr said he has NEVER seen this before to this extent, he has been an ep dr for over 35 years. One of the things that I'm worried about is heart failure and having an escape rhythm after the surgery. Can anyone help me out?

I,m 50yo,blk male athletic history(also surgical tech-open heart 22yrs),had heart attack 4yrs ago.drugs are 81mg.aspirin(at nite) metepolol, valsartan, crestor, sotalolicd device implanted due to tacky beats while recovering n hops.(scare tissue from attack).these drugs have been wring pretty well for me.I have been shocked several times due to I believe over working myself w excersing, biking hard.never had ablation but have been thinking of having this done w my battery change.had my upper number increased to160 due to my activity level.the multaq is a form of amiodarone which when taken for long x causes lesions in the lungs which adds to the health problems,so because I've worked and help implant icd,s pacemakers, ect.in my day I explained to my pe/cardio.dr.that I WILL NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE SO DON'T WASTE TIME WRITING THIS OUT!Inform yourself of your condition.I ask lots of questions and inform myself of drugs and there side affects. Some dr.s get paid to prescribe medicine to patience.also if you are taking a statin your statin is depleting your body of it's natural coq10.your dr,s may not be telling you this.PLEASE READ AND LET OTHERS ON STATINS DRUGS KNOW,READ READ READ:)))))I experienced all except weight loss, lack of appetite(I wish love to eat,but eat healthy these days:))not sure if I helped but let me know if I can help.My problem is I've been shocked several times and I,m afraid sometimes to raise my h.r for excersise.other times I say wtf live or die,but this fear is n my heart and mind.it feels like a bomb explod in my brain/body.any advice?what is IST u mentioned in your letter?

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
