Getting new pacemaker
Hi! I am getting a different pacemaker put in next week, Right now I have a single lead and they are going to put in a double lead so in jan they can go in and ablate my av node. I was at drs office yesterday and my ecg looked horrible (bad enough that they did 2) and I was in junctional tachycardia rhythm. I have tried lots of meds and they did not work. They want to put in a new pacemaker before they ablate so they can make sure the leads are where they need to be. My question is what will my recovery time be on just getting the new pacemaker? I was thinking that it would probably be just like the first time but was wondering if I will be just as sore. Any imput would me much appreciated!

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.

Recovery time and restrictions will be about the same as the first time. You will probably feel better faster this time because they should be able to use the same pocket so that's one less thing to heal from. Good luck!!!! Hope this takes care of your problems so you can get back to feeling good.
