Greetimgs everyone,
I wanted to share my last PM check with people who would appreciate the results. I had my 6th generator and 5th lead put in on June 28th. Post surgery I noticed my heart rate jumping quickly after minimal activity. I went in for my one month post op check and got awesome news. My EP was able to tweak the settings to increase my sensitivity and slow the acceleration of my heart beat. I feel 500% better and shaved an instant 10 mins of off my walk work out. To make it even better, I was told the new lead threshold is so low, my PM had an estimated life of 12.5 years! I've never gone more than 8 years between surgeries. The though of being surgery free for a decade is awesome.
Sorry for the long post; it's hard to find others who understand the impact of such news. Hope everyone has a good August.

Hi! So happy for you. You are so right that it is hard for nonheart patients to understand the importance to us of any and all steps forward, especially repeated surgeries. We celebrate with you. Hopeful Heart

Just think if you just laid around all day and never increased your HR you might even make the pacer last 15 yrs. LOL
Not to rain on your parade, but the estimated life is just that. The numbers for the first year or so are notoriously inaccurate. It takes a history to make the estimate.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
