feel heart pounding
Hi-
I had a Medtronic ICD but it malfunctioned earlier this year and mistakenly shocked me at least 4 times. I needed to get a new one (Boston Scientific) through another surgery.
Last night I woke up and a few minutes later I felt my heart beating. It’s during the day now and I still feel my heart beating. I don’t know if I’m just having an anxiety attack or if something is actually wrong. I checked with my Dr and he said that my device is totally fine and had no arrhythmia. It’s just very uncomfortable that I feel my heart beating.
Let me know. Thanks.

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!

It's common to be hyper-aware of your heart beat when something is going on. I felt like I counted every beat the first year, my hr was more than double what it had been before the pm and it felt like it was racing all the time. Now I don't even notice it. If it keeps up, give the dr a call again. Did he say everything was ok based on a remote check in? That just means the device is functioning, doesn't mean nothing is going on with you.
