I am surmising that the time recorded for high rate episodes on my interrogation reports are Central Time since Medtronic is in Minneapolis----unless the damn thing was made in China. I am trying to correlate highly stressful events to the episode times on my report and wonder if I have to correct for time zone. Obvious the PM does not know what time zone it is in, so it is running off the factory setting time??

GrandmaD---time zone

I am in Florida (Eastern Tine Zone) and mine was also exactly one hour earlier on the report. We had a horrific early morning fire in the rear engine compartment of our motorcoach while still asleep. Fortunately, my wife was aroused and saw a light haze in the bedroom. By the time I realized what was going on and where the fire was, the entire rear of the coach was in serious blazes---total loss. A month later I had an interrogation report and my cardi recognized it---that baby was 16 minutes long. Not knowing what happened, the nurse called me and said to double my beta-blocker. I went in to the office looked at the print out and viola---there it was down to the second. That's when I staarted paying attention to the interogation reports.
Now I only record occasional, few second episodes for reasons unknown...
Medtronic is in Minneapolis

Yep, that's indeed Central time zone! I recall a short while ago, Smitty commented that a PM could NOT be turned off. That it was started by the mfgr & sealed up running till it quit. Since time is so important, it makes sense that the time would be set at the plant - in this case, CTZ. Wonder if it can compensate for Daylight Saving Time? Even if they were made in China, it's no great stretch for them to set the devices to CTZ in the US of A.
BTW: Expect to ALWAYS have a few episodes of irregularities. That's the way hearts are. No big deal. Unless, of course they are VTach or VFib - THEN we get excited.

I always get turned on to watch the clock in my Honda Odyssey automatically adjust for different time zones and being a wannabe geek or techie, I get orgasmic when it even knows to adjust for daylight savings time and visa versa----really cool. Has to be tied into the GPS ,,,
You also anticipated a future question on momentary episodes...I am trying to tie them into frying pan over the head events...

Pacemaker time
by shockbox340 - 2012-08-22 11:08:03
Each time a pacemaker is interrogated with a programmer (the computer they use to do the tests, etc.) the pacemaker syncs it's internal clock with the programmer's clock. So, If you are on vacation and checked in a different time zone from where you live, it will be off that many hours once you are back home. Also, pacemakers do not adjust for daylight savings time, so that frequently accounts for event times being an hour off.
Finally, it is always possible that the programmer time is off. They are normally checked fairly regularly, but these things happen. When the programmer's clock is wrong, your pacemaker's time stamps will be wrong until it is interrogated by a programmer with the correct time.
You know you're wired when...

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
Time Zone

I too have surmised that times are not true. I recently had a major event and the monitor says it happened 1 hour earlier than it did. I am not certain what time zone each is in. our rep could likely tell you.
