Replacement

I had my defibrilator replaced yesterday. This is my third incision. The first was from the original implantation and the second was from a lead revision 18 months after the original implantation. My battery was dying so I had to have a new device put in. The first two incisions had staples but my third incision has been glued. I am in MUCH more pain from this third surgery than I was from the first two. Is this normal? I called the doctor's office and they told me that it could be due to scar tissue not only on the outside but also scar tissue from the "pocket" where the device sat. Has this happened to anyone else? Just wondering if this is normal and how long can I expect this severe pain? The last two I was up and working out in the yard with my good arm the next day. This one, I can barely readjust my sitting position without bringing tears to my eyes. Any advice?

Thank you for the response. I think there are several factors that combine to make this one different. I will give it a few more days but will continue to monitor the pain and pray it starts subsiding.
