Hi all,
I am facing a lead extraction in the next few months and would like to know who everyone has used as their surgeon. I am paced 100% of the time and have had this lead in since 2001. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you !

...go to Boston for an extraction. Texas is a BIG place w/ lots of competent extraction surgeons. We have a member from Texas who had one - but she has not been around lately & I cannot recall her name. I'll try to search it out for you.

Creaky is right! Dr Epstein is the one to see for an extraction. He's also a heck of a Dr. He installed my PM five years ago. He and his staff were great. I can't say enough good things about him. Really made me feel at ease
lead replacement

I have a St Judes PM that was put in on 12/26/11. One week ago found out that my lower lead was bad. Had it replace Monday and I am already at home. Surgery was 2 hours long and thankfully uneventful. Our smaller hospital claims to do 2-3 replacements per month. The newer the leads the easier they can be extracted. I did not require any laser procedure. This the best I have felt since receiving my PM. I am pacing 100%, during the surgery the Doctor turned my PM off to see what my heart would do on its own. My own heart beat was 15bpm. Thank god we have theses devices. best of luck
